Treating Missing Teeth

Are you self-conscious of your missing tooth or teeth?

Millions of Americans are missing at least one tooth and there are multiple methods to restore and fill out smiles. Missing teeth can not only become an aesthetic problem for patients but an oral health problem as well.

Why Replace Missing Teeth?

If the gaps left by missing teeth are not filled soon enough, increased oral health and aesthetic problems may occur. Some examples of this include:

  • Shifting Teeth
  • Facial Sagging
  • Bone Loss
  • Crooked Teeth
  • Bad Breath
  • Difficulty Speaking
  • Tooth Decay

However, there are treatment options to fill in gaps and improve oral health.

Restorative Solutions for Missing Teeth

Dr. Fabrizio Dall’Olmo & Associates offer multiple restorative options for patients who are missing one tooth, several teeth, or whole arches of teeth. These treatments include:

Dental Implants

This solution works best for patients who are missing one tooth or several teeth. Dental implants are made up of a titanium post which is implanted into the jawbone. After a healing period of 3 to 6 months, the post is fused to bone tissue. An abutment and dental crown are then attached to the post.

Dental Bridges

For one missing tooth or several consecutive missing teeth, dental bridges are a great option. Dental bridges, also known as partial dentures, can also be secured with dental implants.

Dentures

Patients who are missing whole arches of teeth can benefit from dentures. Like dental bridges, dentures can be secured with dental implants for a more permanent restoration.
